59 enterprises, 60 products, 24 products do not meet standards. The quality issues of electric tools (electric drills, electric hammers, angle grinders) are still concentrated in small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, as revealed by the recent announcement from the National Quality Inspection Administration regarding the third batch of national product quality supervision and random inspection in 2010.
"From the results of this national supervision and inspection, the product quality of key and backbone enterprises is not problematic, and the unqualified products are mainly concentrated in small and medium-sized enterprises, some of which are even small workshop enterprises. Overall, the quality of electric tool products in the domestic market has been improving over the years," said Zhang Chuanfu, Secretary-General of the Electric Tool Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association.
Industry insiders believe that as a major global manufacturing base for electric tools, the development of China's electric tool industry has always been export-oriented. Driven by exports, the product quality of domestic electric tools has also been improving, but the lack of well-known Brands has kept China's electric tool industry mainly in an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) state. While further improving quality, creating world-class leading enterprises in the Chinese electric tool industry has become an urgent task for the entire industry.
